Christmas Gifts for Migrant Workers’ Children in Florida

We want to thank Activated Ministries for donating almost 300 children’s Christmas magazines and 15 multi-language Christmas Treasure Attic DVDs for our Christmas event which was held for over 100 children of migrant workers here in Homestead, Florida.

Comfort for the Victims of the Peru Earthquakes

On August 15th of 2007, two violent earthquakes shook the country of Peru, killing over 600 people and destroying 40,000 houses. The earthquakes, which lasted over two minutes, were 7.5 and 7.9 degrees on the Richter scale. Through the sponsorship of Activated Ministries, we were able to distribute more than 5,000 copies of a special edition the Activated magazine called “Why Disasters?” to those living in the affected areas. The magazine contained words from Jesus to give these disaster victims the courage and strength needed to deal with their dire situations, articles on how to trust in God in the midst of so much disaster, answers to their questions, and the chance to receive Jesus’ comfort and salvation through asking Him into their hearts as their personal savior.

Christmas Clown Therapy in Hamano, Japan

On December 19th, 2007, The Family International in Hamano visited the Chiba Hospital, bringing a group of clowns and balloons, a children’s show group, Santa Claus, and presents for the patients. Our clowns and several volunteers went from room to room, bringing Christmas cheer to the otherwise somber wards. We were able to spend time with the children in the cancer ward, as well as the ICU. Among the presents that we brought to the children were 170 new children’s picture books, sponsored by Activated Ministries. The book entitled “The Garden” has an encouraging message and giving one to each child helped to make the whole program something for the children to remember each time the book is read.

Reaching the Fiji Islands

Our small volunteer team has been coming to Fiji every year for five years now, reaching not only the Fiji islands, but also the surrounding island countries such as Vanuatu, Samoa and Tonga. During this time we’ve conducted numerous programs in schools, colleges and prisons, as well as carrying out some book distribution projects in poor village schools. We're very grateful to Activated Ministries for donating 27 boxes of wonderful, brand new character-building materials, Christian videos, DVDs and CDs, calendars and much more! We distributed these materials in December and January to orphanages, village schools, prisons, old age homes and the children's ward of Fiji's biggest hospital.

Christmas in the Sierras

This Christmas we hosted two large Christmas events for the poor in our area: one at the food kitchen where we have donated food for the last three years in the nearby Sierra mountains, and another for our local Bible study group in our little village. We’re very grateful to Activated Ministries for sponsoring the Christian books, posters, tracts, tapes, CD's and magazines that we distributed at these events.
