Making the invisible visible, part 2

Our first “Sponsor a Book” campaign for 2009 took us to Guerrero, land of some of the poorest municipalities in México. We held six King’s Day “jornadas” (events) for a total of 1,200 underprivileged children. Our volunteers distributed 150 toys and 4,200 sponsored books.

Our three Christmas celebrations for the disadvantaged in México City put us in contact with many “invisible” people, those whom most of society don’t see or hear about. Patricino un Libro (Sponsor a Book) volunteers are so thankful that we were able to show these desperately poor people some recognition, encouragement and love during the Christmas season.

Children's Day in Bogota, Columbia

The Las Arenitas preschool education center is located in one of the many violence-threatened neighborhoods in Bogota, Columbia. Even though most of the parents, children and faculty are already Christians, one of their biggest needs is suitable material to study in order to grow spiritually in their relationship with Jesus.

Counseling and comfort to the ports of Melbourne, Australia

Mission to Hidalgo

“Patricino un Libro” (Sponsor a Book) volunteers completed a week-long mission to the local towns and remote areas of Hidalgo for the purpose of promoting education and the joys of reading to the children of these communities. Thanks to the Activated Ministries sponsorship program, we were able to freely distribute value-based educational books and puzzles free of charge to 1,200 children and over 350 sets of parents.
