Rescate Children's Day Events

For Rescate, our humanitarian project here in Mexico, the month of April truly became “Children’s Month”, as “Children’s Day” (30th of April) was celebrated not just once, but four times in a series of events in Nuevo Leon and Chuahila for neglected and underprivileged children. In each of these events we performed our fantastic puppet show, prepared meals and snacks, distributed gift bags to all the children (over 3,100 toys and more than 3,000 books and puzzles) and most importantly spent personal time with each of the kids attending the events. It is our hope that this little bit of love demonstrated to these 980 children in the form of these events will ignite the hope in their hearts that they are not forgotten.

Free children's CD's to the needy in Monterrey, Mexico

Through the Activated Ministries Sponsorship Program, our mission center here in Monterrey, Mexico distributed 1,900 motivational children’s CD’s through a series of volunteer projects for the needy during the Christmas season. One of the avenues of distributing these CD’s was through schools. It’s hard to express with simple words the very deep gratitude expressed to us from the directors and teachers of these underprivileged children. That in itself made this Christmas one of our most joyous!

Visiting the Sick

On December 12th, we visited our three community Hospitals, two of which we have been visiting and singing at since Christmas 2003. This Christmas the children and staff at Shriners Burns Hospital and UTMB Hospital (both in Galveston, Texas) as well as those at Mainland Medical Hospital in Texas City were happily surprised not only by our cheerful voices caroling of Jesus’ birth and “His power and glory that evermore shall reign” but also by the special gifts we were able to bring them.

The ADD Program - Family Services India

In May 2006, Family Services India launched a new outreach training program for young people, aged 12-17 all over India. This program was developed with the aim of training young people in youth counseling, missionary outreach, and distribution of Christian literature and was called “The Add program.” This initiative was launched simultaneously around the country. In October, the Add Program culminated in a 5-day camp and training seminar for 130 young people who had participated in the program and had achieved their goals. This exciting camp, which the teenagers had eagerly anticipated for many months, was known as “The Add Fest”

A Message of Hope and Comfort

Richard and Leslie in San Antonio, Texas, work tirelessly to change their part of the world and make a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate. Their mission takes them to a shelter for illegal immigrants where they guide and counsel youth in crisis, a local prison to encourage the inmates and lead them to salvation, and to the bedsides of critically ill children where they bring comfort and the message of God’s love.
