Project Highlights of 2005

2005 was a very busy and fulfilling year for us at Activated Ministries. Thousands of educational and devotional materials were donated to a variety of ministries, outreach initiatives, humanitarian projects and disaster relief efforts worldwide. Lives were changed and hearts were touched with the love of God thanks to your support, prayers, and efforts.

Following are some of the highlights as well as a small sampling of the notes of appreciation we have received from a few of the projects who benefited from the donations of materials in the past year. We want to thank each of you for the part you have played in helping to support this work and ministry. These letters of thanks are to you, also, for making these efforts possible. We hope they encourage you as much as they encouraged us. Thank you for your support!

Giving the Greatest Christmas Gift

We have had a busy Christmas season distributing our Christian materials and witnessing, but we were able to balance it with some performances, road trips and a food distributing program feeding 125 poor families. One of our local friends wanted us to help him with a “Feeding the Poor” Christmas project that he had done in the past, which he wanted to start doing again as a gift of thankfulness to Jesus. We agreed to send some of our volunteers to help out and we were able to help with a lot of the preparation, including getting the food together and bagging the rice, beans, potatoes, onions, sugar, flour, chocolate, oil, chicken, potato chips, pasta, juice…. Enough to make a nice Christmas dinner! We spent a couple hours preparing bags for 125 families and then had a convoy of three pick up trucks driving to the farthest outskirts of Tijuana where a lot of people live in 3x5 meter houses in a poor isolated area accessible only by a dirt road. People were very thankful for the free food and the message of love we gave. We passed out the poster “The Man of Love” and about 150 people received Jesus as their Savior. Our friends were very happy with our help as although they have done the food distribution other years, this is the first time that they were able to combine the physical help with spiritual encouragement and the greatest Christmas gift of all – salvation!

Bringing the hope & true meaning of Christmas to the needy

For the past nine months we have had a weekly Bible study with six women attending. With Christmas approaching, we wanted to come up with a project to share the Lord’s love with the needy in our area. As two of our attendees are nurses and another a nurse’s attendant, all of whom work in nursing homes, we felt led to go and encourage some of the elderly and disabled in some nearby nursing homes.

Toy Drive for Katrina Victims
This month the Lord opened the door for the use of a 44,000 sq. ft. warehouse and a 1,000 sq. ft. store front in a nearby mall to organize a toy, clothing and household item distribution for hundreds of Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees. Over the course of the distribution, we were able to lead more than 1,000 souls to the Lord. We distributed a variety of Christian material as well as caroled to those we were helping. Our young people also got the chance to see God working in the lives of many of those who lost it all in the hurricanes.
