"Wednesday's game between South Africa and Uruguay was a milestone for this host country. The hours preceding the game had the streets filled with excited and expectant fans. Yellow, red, green, black and white were everywhere - the colors of the home team!"
"As the crowds grew we were able to talk to many people and give them tracts and Activated magazines. In each of the cities that are hosting the actual FIFA games there are Fan Fest Parks with large screens that broadcast the games of the day. Thousands gather there and eat, drink, blow on the vuvuzelas and cheer wildly! Everywhere you see people wrapped in flags, faces painted to show their loyalties, hats made of balloons, or velvet or flags! Yes, more flags!"
The 2010 World Cup has begun! Activated Ministries is proud to sponsor 70,000 Activated magazines to the volunteers of Playing2Win for distribution to the thousands who have traveled from around the globe to attend the games. Check back often for updates from volunteers Mike and Donna on the outreach efforts of Playing2Win!
"Over the last few years more families have moved out of the neighborhoods here in Michigan. Families with children account for 38% of the homeless population. We felt that though each situation was unique and so many needs were beyond us, there was a need that we could fill – that of friendship and faith."
"Help for the Andes foundation has been working directly with coordinating relief efforts since the earthquake. On our third trip to Constitucion, which took place on Easter weekend, we distributed the Activated Ministries’ sponsored materials to the grateful citizens. Our idea of going on this date was inspired by the events that took place on Easter, where Jesus died and rose again. The way we look at it, this town in many ways has died, so our message to Constitucion on this special date was one of resurrection."
