Bringing the hope & true meaning of Christmas to the needy

January 5, 2006

For the past nine months we have had a weekly Bible study with six women attending. With Christmas approaching, we wanted to come up with a project to share the Lord’s love with the needy in our area. As two of our attendees are nurses and another a nurse’s attendant, all of whom work in nursing homes, we felt led to go and encourage some of the elderly and disabled in some nearby nursing homes.

Thanks to the generosity of Activated Ministries who donated 350 Christmas music tapes to be distributed, we were able to visit all the residents of three different nursing homes. We not only gave them a tape but a Christmas poster with a beautiful message on the back, and we shared a word of cheer with each person and prayed with those who needed prayer. Those we ministered to were so thankful to have us visit them personally and give these little gifts.

Activated Ministries also donated two sets of two Christmas videos telling the true story of Christmas for children, which we were able to present to a local preschool and after-school department of a local Catholic school where another of our Bible study members worked part time. The children there viewed the videos just before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the sweet message they portrayed.
