Toy Drive for Katrina Victims

From David, Texas
This month the Lord opened the door for the use of a 44,000 sq. ft. warehouse and a 1,000 sq. ft. store front in a nearby mall to organize a toy, clothing and household item distribution for hundreds of Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees. Over the course of the distribution, we were able to lead more than 1,000 souls to the Lord. We distributed a variety of Christian material as well as caroled to those we were helping. Our young people also got the chance to see God working in the lives of many of those who lost it all in the hurricanes.

Singing in the tent city

From John and Ruth, Louisiana
We have joined efforts with the “rainbow people” who serve 3 hot meals a day to the people who live in the “tent city.” These are evacuees from New Orleans who live here in the city in tents. We have been passing out canned goods, blankets, and stuffed animals to these homeless people. We are singing and performing in the tents and have been able to distribute hundreds of Activated magazines! The people are so happy to hear us as we are about the only source of entertainment and spiritual feeding.

Encouraging the downtrodden

From Andrew, Louisiana
We had a fruitful witness to the Chalmette, Louisiana, storm victims and disaster workers for the Christmas season. People there were so thankful for our literature and songs! Hardship does so much to soften the hearts of the afflicted, and then the Lord sends His message of hope & faith to encourage people. One old man and his wife who had lost all of their personal possessions and had pretty much given up hope, were revitalized with our songs and attention we gave them when we visited their trailer where they were living in front of their flooded out house.  Nothing like a little bit of love to perk up the downtrodden! And seeing these courageous people who have so much faith in the face of adversity makes us very thankful for our many blessings!

Tears of Happiness

From Jerry, Canada
One day I went witnessing with my children, Jeanne (7 years old) and Daniel (9 years old) and we met a 55 year old lady who prayed with us to receive Jesus with tears of happiness! After praying she said: “Thank you so much for coming to visit me, there are no more people like you who take the time to bring the message of Jesus at Christmas. You are very special.” She thanked us many times for bringing Gods love to her life and was very touched. We also met a very sweet couple from Congo.  After we introduced ourselves as missionaries, he exclaimed, “I have been living here for two years and I do not know my neighbors. People here are not friendly, and I am very surprised that you are talking to me about God”. The whole family prayed to receive Jesus in their hearts; the husband, the wife and their six beautiful children. They want to keep in touch with us.

Making a difference

From Claire, Miguel, Rene and Pierre, Canada
This Christmas we put on a program for needy children at the biggest hotel here in our city. We did a pup-pet show, and had our singing group plus three clowns. We went there with the purpose of leading souls to Jesus and bring-ing the real meaning of Christmas to everyone. One woman came to us after the program and said, “I really liked your show and when the kids sang I felt God’s love in my heart. Please let your children know that the show was really touch-ing and the message that you gave to us made a difference in our lives.

Personal Counseling

From Abe, Katy, Tim, Maria and Mary Jane, Illinois
This was our third month singing for the area homeless shelter in the local area suburb and through it we found that there were quite a few very needy and spiritually hungry individuals who were ready for the message. Many of these folks are young adults who have had a bad turn in life and had nowhere to go. Some of these people have started going out witnessing with us and are now coming to our Bible study where we put on the 12 Foundation Stones Bible class video for them. We have continued going to the shelter on a regular basis to witness, and have been singing to the residents of the shelter, up to 40 at a time, during their dinner hour in their meeting room. After the singing we have one-on-one personal counseling time with the residents.  We are now visiting the shelter twice a month and have many regular readers of the Activated magazine there.

Miracle of Healing

From John, Texas
I had just finished an afternoon of witnessing and it was get-ting late and I was tired. For some reason I had one Activated magazine left sitting on my car seat and I saw a couple pass whom I’d seen pass once already. I prayed “ What should I do?”  “Give it to them” was the answer I received. I prayed again, and “Give it to them!” again is what came. So I got out of the car and gave the magazine to them.  It turned out they were witnessing Christians and had won hundreds of souls over a few years’ time. The husband mentioned after a while that his wife had epilepsy and though she had undergone a corrective operation, the seizures were increasing.
I felt led to offer to pray for his wife’s healing, which they readily agreed to. About 10 or 11 days later I called them and he said that his wife had no more seizures! She got on the phone and began thanking me repeatedly. I told her not to thank me, but just to thank the Lord. This is not the first time I’ve seen the Lord do big things when I’d push myself that last step: In this case it was to get out of the car to give them a copy of the Activated magazine.

An extra special Christmas

Amor and Dove, Texas
Over the past month we have organized and collected hundreds of toys, as well as food, to distribute at Christmas to poor children and families on an island with no running water or electricity.

This ministry has been going on for about six years, and we’ve been able to visit about every two weeks all year long, to bring food, clothing, and lots of encouragement! We read the Bible to them and explain, giving classes, and this year we read the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke, complete with a local expectant Mommy playing Mary! We brought cake, bread, hamburgers and sweets for all, with plenty left over to pass out for later. The children of the island sang for us, including a puppet show illustrating the song, “Jesus, Our Savior, Kind & Good”!

Then it was our turn, with our teens singing and dancing several Christmas songs, which the families really enjoyed. They also flipped over the toys, which were handed out by families. All in all, it was a very fruitful visit, and three people received Jesus during the show. On the way Home, Amor stopped at a military check point, to the surprise of the eight soldiers stationed there! She got out, walked up to them, and asked them if they wanted to receive Jesus into their hearts, and they all answered “Yes”! So she prayed with them right in the middle of the deserted highway. Afterward, she passed out Conectate magazines, as well as Christmas treats for all. They were all very happy as we drove off and waved. I’m sure it made their Christmas extra special.
